Budgets and goals: frequently asked questions

Updated on 18 June 2026

Difference between budget and goal, cash consideration, limit modifications: your answers.

What is the difference between a budget and a goal?

A budget sets a spending limit per category and per month. A goal targets an amount to save for a project. One frames your spending, the other builds your savings.

Do my cash expenses count toward my budgets?

Yes, if you add them as manual expenses with a category. They will then be included in your budgets and analyses.

Why doesn’t the spent amount match what I expected?

Check the category of your transactions: a misclassified operation can distort a budget. You can reclassify a transaction at any time, and the rule will apply to subsequent ones from the same merchant.

Can I modify or remove a limit?

Yes. Open the category to adjust the amount or remove the limit. Your past expenses remain unchanged.

How many goals can I create?

One goal with the Free plan, several with Premium, and an unlimited number with Ultra.
