Sharing expenses with Notebooks

Updated on 18 June 2026

Track the shared expenses of a trip or a flat share, and automatically get who owes what to whom.

A Notebook is used to track expenses among several people: a trip, a flat share, a weekend with friends. Noryo automatically calculates the balances and suggests the simplest repayment plan.

Creating a Notebook

  1. Open Notebooks

    From the Steering section.

  2. Create a new Notebook

Give it a name, a place and dates if you wish.

  3. Add the participants

List the people who share the expenses.

Adding a shared expense

  1. Add an expense

Enter its amount and what it is for.

  2. Specify who paid

Select the person who settled it.

  3. Indicate for whom

Choose the beneficiaries, or split it across the whole group.

Settling the Notebook

The accounts tab shows, for each participant, what they paid and what they owe. Noryo suggests the minimal number of repayments to balance it all out.
