How to approve a recovery from another device

Updated on 26 August 2026

Use a device already signed in to your account to prove it is really you and recover access securely.

If you have lost access to your email or phone number, Noryo helps you recover your account in three steps: identify your account, prove that it is really you, then replace the lost factor. Approving from another device is one of the ways to prove your identity, as long as that device is already signed in to your account.

Approve the request on your trusted device

When you choose this method, Noryo sends a request to a device already signed in to your account. On that device:

  1. Open the notification or the Noryo app to view the approval request.
  2. Check the details shown, then confirm that it is really you.
  3. Confirm with Face ID, or with your Noryo Code if biometrics is not available.

By confirming, your device signs a proof with its secure key (Secure Enclave). Face ID is never proof on its own: on a device already linked to your account, it simply unlocks that key (your face, never your iPhone passcode) and adds a layer of presence on top of possession of the device.

After the approval

Once your identity is proven, you can replace the lost factor with a new email or a new phone number. For your security, as soon as the recovery succeeds:

  • All your existing sessions are signed out: you will need to sign in again with your new factor.
  • A security event is logged and a notification is sent to you.
  • The old email or number can no longer be used to sign in or to identify your account.
