Privacy at home

Understanding what is shared, what remains private, and how each member retains control over their data.

Updated 19 June 2026

The first question when joining a household is legitimate: what will others see? The answer is simple: in a household, sharing is a choice, never an obligation. Each member retains control of their own data. This article details what is shared, what remains private, and the habits for sharing with peace of mind.

The basic principle

Joining a household does not automatically grant access to your entire account. The shared view is populated by what each person chooses to make common.

What is shared and what is private

The household clearly distinguishes two spaces: what is common to the household and what belongs to each individual. The table below summarizes this distribution.

The Junior role and protecting younger members

The Junior role offers a simplified experience, designed for a child or teenager. It allows them to learn about money management in an appropriate setting, without exposing the entire financial life of the household.

Introducing without worrying

The Junior role is ideal for learning to track a few expenses and understand the value of money, at a pace suited to their age.

Maintaining control at all times

Privacy in the household is not fixed. You can adjust your participation and, if needed, withdraw entirely.

  • You decide what you pool in the shared view
  • You can leave the household whenever you wish
  • The owner can remove a member at any time
  • Your personal data stays yours, even after leaving the household

Security and hosting

Like the rest of Noryo, the household relies on data encryption and hosting in Europe. Your information is never sold. Sharing within the household does not change this foundation of protection.

Frequently asked questions about privacy

Can another member see the details of my accounts?

No. Your personal tracking and your accounts stay private. Only what you pool appears in the shared view.

If I leave the household, what happens to my data?

It stays yours. Leaving the household removes your participation in the shared space, without touching your personal account.

Does the owner have more access to my data?

The owner manages the household's organization (invitations, roles), but that does not give them access to your personal information.

Sharing requires trust

Only invite trusted individuals into your household. The shared view is designed for cooperation among loved ones.
