FAQ: search and anomalies

How to find a transaction, filter your list and understand transactions flagged as unusual.
Finding a specific transaction and understanding what Noryo flags: here are the answers to the most common questions.
How do I find a specific transaction?
Use the search on your transaction list: you can search by merchant, by category or by amount. On the web, the command palette (⌘ + K) also lets you launch a quick global search.
Which filters do I have available?
You can filter by period, by transaction type, by account and by bank. Quick filters also group recurring transactions, those still to categorise and those flagged as anomalies.
What does the Anomalies filter mean?
It gathers the transactions that fall outside your usual patterns: an unusually high amount at a merchant, or an atypical movement. It is a quick checkpoint, not a verdict: it is up to you to confirm whether the transaction is legitimate.
Does an anomaly mean fraud?
Not necessarily. A one-off purchase or an annual direct debit can be flagged simply because it is unusual. If, on the other hand, you genuinely do not recognise a transaction, contact your bank without delay: Noryo helps spot the problem, but only your bank can dispute a debit or block a card.
Why does my balance not match exactly?
A small gap most often comes from transactions still pending on the bank side, which are not yet definitively recorded. They adjust as soon as your bank confirms them.
A transaction seems to be missing, is that normal?
A recent transaction can take a little time to appear depending on your bank and the timing of the sync. You can launch a manual sync to force an update. If it is a cash expense, remember to add it as a manual expense.
Can I export the result of a search?
Yes, you can export your transactions in CSV format, and depending on your plan in other formats. It is handy for keeping or analysing a selection of transactions outside the app.
