Multi-currency accounts

How Noryo manages your euro and foreign currency accounts, and how everything is consolidated into a unified view.

Updated 19 June 2026

If your accounts are not all in the same currency, Noryo handles it for you. You can link a euro account and a foreign currency account, and still see a consistent total. This article explains which currencies are supported, how display conversion works, and how to choose the currency in which you want to view your figures.

Supported currencies

Noryo recognizes the main currencies used daily. An account detected in one of these currencies is synchronized normally, with its balance and transactions in its original currency.

  • Euro (EUR)
  • US dollar (USD)
  • Pound sterling (GBP)
  • Swiss franc (CHF)
  • Canadian dollar (CAD)
  • Japanese yen (JPY)
Each account retains its original currency

Transactions from a dollar account remain displayed in dollars in the account details. Nothing is altered: the conversion is only used to provide an overview.

How display conversion works

To provide you with a clear net balance and readable charts, Noryo consolidates all your accounts into a single display currency. This is a display conversion: it standardizes the presentation of your figures and never affects the actual money in your accounts.

  1. Each account keeps its currency

The real balance stays in the bank's currency.

  2. Noryo applies a conversion rate

To bring each amount back to your display currency.

  3. You get a unified total

Net balance, spending and charts in a single currency.

To distinguish

Source currency
The currency in which an account is actually held by your bank.
Display currency
The single currency in which Noryo presents your totals and charts.
Display conversion
The calculation that brings an amount from one currency to another, for presentation only.

Choosing your display currency

The display currency is set in your preferences, under the Account section. You specify the currency in which you prefer to view your figures. The change applies everywhere: dashboard, analytics, and totals.

Tip

Choose the currency you use in your daily life. It will make your balances and budgets the most meaningful.

What you need to know about converted amounts

A converted amount is an estimate based on the current exchange rate. Since exchange rates fluctuate constantly, the displayed total for a foreign currency account may slightly vary from day to day, even without new transactions. This is normal and reflects the foreign exchange market.

For an exact amount in the original currency

Open the details of the relevant account: you will see the balance and transactions in their actual currency, without conversion.

Frequently asked questions

Does conversion change my money?

No. It is purely a display. Your bank remains the sole authority over the real amounts on your accounts.

Can I see an account in its source currency?

Yes, open the account detail: everything there is shown in its real currency.

Why does my total vary without a new expense?

Because the exchange rate used for the display conversion changes with the market.
