Bank data delays and freshness

How often your transactions come in, why some arrive with a delay, and how to get the most up-to-date view of your accounts.

Updated 19 June 2026

Noryo reads your accounts using the secure bank connection of open banking. Your transactions therefore don't appear in real time to the second, but on a regular rhythm. This page explains that rhythm, what can slow it down, and how to force an update when you need it.

Updated several times a dayOperational

Your connected accounts refresh automatically at regular intervals, with no action on your part.

How often your accounts update

Your connected accounts are refreshed automatically several times a day. Between two automatic updates, you can run a manual sync at any time to immediately retrieve the latest transactions available from your bank.

  • Automatic synchronization: triggered several times a day in the background.
  • Manual synchronization: on your request, to get the most recent view right away.
  • First synchronization: a little longer, the time it takes to retrieve your history.
Freshness also depends on your bank

Each institution makes its data available on its own rhythm. A transaction validated just now may take a while to be published by the bank, even before Noryo can read it.

Why a transaction takes time to appear

Several steps follow one another between the moment you pay and the moment the transaction appears, final, in Noryo. Understanding these states avoids a lot of worry about a balance that moves.

  1. Payment made

You pay for a purchase. The transaction is not yet confirmed by the bank.

  2. Pending transaction

The bank marks it as pending. The amount can affect the displayed balance without being final yet.

  3. Validated transaction

Once confirmed, the transaction becomes final and its date may adjust.

  4. Read by Noryo

At the next synchronization, Noryo retrieves the up-to-date transaction and displays it in your accounts.

A balance gap is often normal

If the displayed balance differs a little from the one in your banking app, these are usually pending transactions. Everything realigns once those transactions are validated.

Force an immediate update

  1. Open your accounts

Go to the view of your connected accounts.

  2. Run the manual sync

Trigger the update. On iPhone, a live activity shows you the progress during the operation.

  3. Wait a few moments

The latest transactions available on the bank's side come in and appear.

What can slow down freshness

Common causes of a slight delay

Bank slow to publish
Some institutions update their data less often than others.
Consent to renew
The access permission expires periodically for security. Once expired, updates stop until you reconnect.
Unstable connection
A poor connection at the moment of synchronization can make it fail; run it again on a reliable network.
Weekends and public holidays
Some transactions are processed by the bank only on business days.
No updates at all anymore?

If an account no longer refreshes for an extended period, its access permission has probably expired. Simply reconnect the bank in question to restart the reading.

Quick questions

Can I see the time of the last update?

Yes, your accounts show their last successful synchronization.

Do pending transactions count in my analyses?

They affect the displayed balance, but a transaction becomes fully reliable once validated by the bank.

Is syncing more often risky?

No. Manual synchronization is read-only and never triggers any operation on your accounts.
