How often your data updates

Automatic synchronization, manual sync, initial retrieval: how often Noryo refreshes your accounts.

Updated 19 June 2026

A question comes up often: how quickly do my transactions appear in Noryo? The good news is that you have almost nothing to do, the update is automatic. This article details the synchronization rhythm, what you can trigger yourself, and why a very recent transaction can sometimes take a little while to appear.

Automatic updates several times a day

Noryo automatically retrieves your accounts several times a day. You don’t need to take any action: your balances and transactions refresh in the background. When you open the app, you see the most recent state that Noryo has available.

It’s not real-time to the second

Noryo isn’t continuously connected to your bank. It checks your accounts at regular intervals, which is more than enough to manage your daily budget.

Manual synchronization when you want it

If you’ve just made a significant purchase and want to see it right away, you can initiate a manual synchronization from your accounts screen. Noryo will then check your bank immediately. On iPhone, you can track the progress of the ongoing sync directly from the screen.

  1. Open your accounts

From the screen that lists your linked banks.

  2. Start the manual sync

A refresh gesture or a dedicated button.

  3. Wait a few moments

Noryo queries your bank and updates the display.

The first synchronization takes longer

Right after linking a new bank, the very first retrieval takes a little longer than subsequent ones. This is normal: Noryo is importing your transaction history, which involves more data than a simple daily update. Once this initial process is complete, future syncs are much faster.

Let the first import finish

Avoid restarting the sync over and over during the first retrieval. Give it time to finish, the display will then complete on its own.

Why freshness depends on your bank

Each bank makes its information available at its own pace. Some publish transactions very quickly, while others do so with a slight delay. A transaction may also remain pending on the bank’s side before being finalized. In such cases, even a manual sync won’t make it appear faster if your bank hasn’t yet shared it.

The three rhythms to know

Automatic sync
Several times a day, in the background, with no action from you.
Manual sync
On demand, to refresh immediately.
First sync
Longer, the time to import your history.

Frequently asked questions

My transaction from five minutes ago does not appear, is this a bug?

Not necessarily. It is probably still pending on the bank side, or not yet made available. It will appear at a coming sync.

At what time does the automatic sync run?

It happens at several points spread across the day. There is no fixed time to remember.

Does the manual sync use anything up?

No, you can refresh whenever you need to.

If nothing updates at all

It’s no longer a frequency issue but a connection one. Most often, the consent has expired, and you need to reconnect the bank.
