What to do when in doubt about a transaction

Updated on 18 June 2026

An unknown transaction, a surprising amount, a duplicate: how to react calmly and in the right place.

Seeing a transaction you do not recognise can be surprising. Most of the time, the explanation is simple and harmless. This page helps you stay calm, check the right things in Noryo, and above all know when the matter is for your bank rather than the app.

The most frequent explanations

Before worrying, go through these common causes. They cover the vast majority of doubts.

Check in Noryo

Open the details of the transaction in question. There you will see its category, and you can add a note or attach a document, for example an invoice, to remember its origin. If the categorisation is wrong, you can recategorise the transaction and create a rule so that future payments from this merchant are categorised automatically.

  • Search the merchant name to see the history of your similar payments.
  • Check whether it is a recurring transaction you already know.
  • Compare the date and amount with any receipt.

Spotting a duplicate

Noryo detects subscriptions paid twice across several banks and flags price increases. If you spot a duplicate, the app can guide you towards cancelling it, it being understood that the final step is always taken directly with the relevant service.

When the matter is for your bank

Noryo's role and limits

Noryo is a tool to track and understand your finances. It helps you see clearly, categorise and plan ahead. It replaces neither your bank for operations, nor an adviser for decisions. If you are in doubt about the very nature of a transaction, your bank remains the reference point of contact.
