Setting up the succession vault

Designate trusted contacts who will be able to access a view of your situation in the event of prolonged inactivity.

Updated 19 June 2026

The succession vault lets you designate trusted contacts who will be able to access, in read-only mode, your most important documents if you stop using Noryo for a long period. It is a calm way to prepare for the future: your loved ones are never left without a reference point, and you keep control at every moment. This page details how it works, how to set it up and the safeguards in place.

An Ultra feature

The succession vault is part of the Ultra plan. You can view the details and activate it from the Subscription screen in the app.

The principle in a few words

You choose one or more trusted people and an inactivity threshold (for example, several months without signing in). As long as you use Noryo normally, nothing happens: each sign-in resets the counter. If the inactivity exceeds the chosen threshold, and after several warnings, your designated contacts receive read-only access to the documents you have set aside for them.

The key concepts

Trusted contact
A person you designate who will be able, when the time comes, to view the documents set aside. They have no access as long as nothing is triggered.
Inactivity threshold
The length of time without signing in that you set yourself before anything is triggered.
Read-only access
Your contacts can only view, never change or delete.

Setting up the succession vault

  1. Open the succession vault

Go to the dedicated section from your Noryo space.

  2. Designate your contacts

Add the trusted person or people and enter their email address.

  3. Choose the inactivity threshold

Set the length of time without signing in that, once exceeded, will trigger access.

  4. Review and confirm

Read over your settings. You can change them or revoke everything at any time.

Prepare the right documents

Store the documents useful to your loved ones in your vault (contracts, certificates, practical information). The more organized your vault is, the clearer access will be when the time comes.

When access is triggered

If the inactivity exceeds the threshold you set, and only after the warnings, your trusted contacts receive an invitation to view the documents set aside. Their access stays strictly read-only: they can see, never change or delete.

  1. Inactivity period

No sign-in for the length of time you chose.

  2. Warnings

Several reminders are sent to you so you can react.

  3. Access granted

Without a sign-in, your contacts get read-only access to the documents set aside.

The safeguards

The succession vault is designed never to be triggered by mistake. Several protections are in place so you always have the final say.

  • Each sign-in to Noryo resets the inactivity counter
  • Several warnings are sent to you before anything is triggered
  • You can change the contacts or the threshold whenever you wish
  • You can fully revoke the mechanism at any time
  • The access granted stays strictly read-only

Frequently asked questions

What if I go away on a long trip?

Just sign in from time to time to reset the counter. You will also receive warnings well before anything is triggered.

Can my contacts see my bank accounts?

The succession vault concerns the documents you have set aside in it. Noryo stays read-only on banks and no one can carry out a transaction on your behalf.

Can I designate several people?

Yes, you can designate several trusted contacts.

Feature availableOperational

The succession vault is available in the Ultra plan, on the web and on iOS.

An organization tool, not a legal act

The succession vault makes it easier to access your documents, but it does not replace a will or the official succession formalities. For any legal question, reach out to a professional.
