Nory's permissions and memory

Decide what Nory can access and modify, domain by domain, and manage what it retains about you.

Updated 19 June 2026

Nory is useful because it knows your situation, but you always stay in command of what it can consult, change and remember. This page explains how the per-domain permissions and Nory's memory work, and how to set them so they match your comfort exactly.

The per-domain permissions

Nory's capabilities are split by domain (for example spending, budgets or goals). For each domain, two levels exist: reading, which allows Nory to consult and analyse, and writing, which allows it to propose changes. You enable or disable each one independently.

Reading is enabled by default, writing is not.
PermissionBy defaultWhat Nory can do
ReadingEnabledConsult and analyse the domain data to answer you
WritingDisabledPropose changes, always subject to your confirmation
Writing stays under your control

Even when writing is allowed for a domain, Nory only proposes. Nothing is applied without your validation, and sensitive actions require a double confirmation.

Setting the permissions

  1. Open Nory's settings

From Noryo, go to the assistant's settings.

  2. Choose a domain

Browse the list of domains (spending, budgets, goals, and others).

  3. Adjust reading and writing

Enable or disable each level according to your preference.

Start cautiously

You can leave only reading enabled at first, then allow writing on the domains where you want Nory to help you take action.

Nory's memory

To give you consistent answers over time, Nory keeps a few useful pieces of context (for example a preference you have expressed to it). This memory stays light, and above all fully transparent: you can view and erase it whenever you wish.

  • Nory only keeps a few pieces of context, not the entirety of your exchanges
  • You can view what is memorised at any time
  • You can erase one item or the whole memory in a single gesture

Permissions and memory at a glance

Reading
Allows Nory to consult a domain to answer you. Enabled by default.
Writing
Allows Nory to propose changes on a domain. Disabled by default.
Memory
A few pieces of context kept, viewable and erasable at any time.

Privacy

Your data stays encrypted and hosted in Europe, and it is never sold. Nory never accesses banking operations: it cannot pay, transfer or move money. And whatever happens, you keep the final say on what it consults, changes and remembers.

Frequently asked questions

If I disable reading for a domain, can Nory still talk to me about it?

No. Without reading, Nory does not consult that domain and therefore cannot analyse it for you.

Does erasing the memory delete my Noryo data?

No. Erasing Nory's memory only erases the context it had kept, not your transactions, budgets or goals.

Are my exchanges with Nory used to train anything?

Your data is not sold and remains yours. Nory relies on your situation to answer you, under your control.
