Quickly find a document

Search by content, filter by folder and badges: all the ways to locate the right document in seconds.

Updated 19 June 2026

A document is only valuable if you can find it at the right time. The vault is designed for this: it doesn’t just store, it helps you locate the right document in seconds, even when you’ve forgotten what you named it.

Search by content

When added, the content of your documents is recognized to become searchable. You can therefore type a word that appears in the document, such as a supplier name, contract number, or city, and find it without knowing its exact filename. This is particularly useful for an invoice or certificate buried among dozens of others.

Search for a precise word

For a more effective search, type a specific term present on the document (a number, a proper name) rather than a common word that would return too many results.

Filter by folder

When you roughly know what you’re looking for, the fastest way is often to go through the folder. Open Insurance, Tax, or Payslips, and you immediately narrow the list down to relevant documents. This is where the value of a well-organized vault becomes clear.

  1. Open your vault

Go to the documents area from the app.

  2. Choose the right lead

Either type a word in the search, or open the relevant folder.

  3. Narrow down if needed

Combine search and folder to shrink the list further.

  4. Open the document

Tap the result to view, share, or export it.

Validity badges also help visually sort documents. A quick glance is enough to spot documents marked Expires soon or Expired, without having to open each file.

Verified, Expiring soon, Expired: what each badge means.

You can attach a document to an account transaction, for example, an invoice to the corresponding purchase. You can then find the supporting document directly from the transaction, which is invaluable for a warranty or reimbursement. Conversely, a recently added document also appears among your recent documents on the dashboard.

Recent documents

The most recently added documents remain visible on your dashboard, allowing you to return to them quickly after uploading.

Tips to never search again

  • Give your documents a clear name when you add them: the date and the nature are often enough.
  • File each document in the right folder from the start, this is the effort that pays off most.
  • Enter expiration dates to take advantage of sorting by badge.
  • Link important supporting documents to their transaction when relevant.

Questions about search

Why does a document not appear in my searches?

Check its spelling and try another word present on the document. A poorly legible scan can limit content recognition: take a sharper photo if needed.

Does search work on the web and on iPhone?

Yes. Your documents and their search are synced across all your devices signed in to the same account.

The best search starts with good filing.
