The security and encryption of your vault
How your documents are protected in the vault: encryption, hosting in Europe, strictly personal access, and good habits to stay safe.
Your documents are among the most sensitive things you own: ID papers, contracts, financial documents. Noryo's vault is designed to protect them at every step, from the moment you deposit them to the moment you view them. Here, in plain terms, is how your documents stay safe.
Your documents are encrypted
Every document you deposit is encrypted. In practice, its content is made unreadable to anyone who does not have the right to access it, and it stays that way while stored. You still see it normally on screen: encryption works in the background, with no effort on your part.
The key terms explained simply
- Encryption
- A protection that turns content into data that is unreadable without the right key. Without authorization, an intercepted file makes no sense.
- Hosting in Europe
- Your documents are kept on infrastructure located in Europe, subject to data-protective regulation.
- Read-only
- The vault stores your files. No banking operation and no payment can be triggered from a document.
Hosted in Europe
Your documents are hosted in Europe, within a regulatory framework that protects your personal data. Your information is never resold. It serves only to provide the service you expect: keeping and finding your documents.
Who can access your documents
By default, you are the only person who can access your vault. Only two situations open access, and always under your control:
- Read-only sharing, when you decide yourself to show a document to someone.
- The Household or the succession vault, if you have chosen to share a view or to designate trusted contacts.
Any additional access results from an explicit choice on your part, and remains revocable at any time.
Strengthen your account security
Protecting your documents also depends on the security of your account. A few settings, available in your security settings, add an extra layer of protection.
Turn on two-factor authentication
An extra code at sign-in blocks access even if your password were guessed. Keep your backup codes.
Use biometric unlock
On iPhone and iPad, Face ID or Touch ID protects opening the app.
Set up your passkeys
Passkeys replace the password with a safer and faster method.
Monitor your active sessions
You can see connected devices and sign out the ones you do not recognize.
In case of an unusual sign-in, you receive an alert email. If you are not the one who signed in, change your password and sign out the other devices without delay.
What if I delete my account?
Deleting your account is permanent and confirmed by a code received by email. It results in the deletion of your data, including the documents in the vault. If you want to keep a copy, remember to export your documents first. You also have an export of all your data as part of your rights.
