Set clear savings goals

Tips for setting realistic savings goals and using the simulator to estimate your target date.

Updated 19 June 2026

A savings goal gives your money direction: a trip, a down payment, an emergency fund. Well-defined, it turns a vague intention into a concrete project you can see progressing. This page helps you set realistic goals and make the most of the simulator to know when you’ll reach them.

The ingredients of a goal

A savings goal consists of a few simple elements. The more precise they are, the more motivating and easy to track the goal becomes.

What you fill in

Name and icon
A clear label and an icon to recognise the goal at a glance, for example Holiday or Down payment.
Target amount
The total sum you want to gather.
Starting amount
What you have already set aside for this project, so you start from the right point.
Deadline (optional)
A cut-off date if your project has a timeline, for example a trip departure.

Set a realistic amount

A goal that’s too ambitious discourages, while one that’s too modest achieves little. The right amount takes into account what you can realistically set aside each month without unbalancing your budget. Review your cash flow to estimate your monthly savings capacity.

Break down big projects

A major goal can be broken down into milestones. Reaching a first step keeps motivation alive far better than a distant summit.

The target date simulator

The simulator estimates the date you’ll reach your goal based on your savings rate. If you set aside more each month, the date moves forward; if you slow down, it moves back. It’s a great way to find the right balance between ambition and comfort.

Adjust your pace and watch the target date change.

An estimate, not a promise

The simulator projects a date based on your current rate. It’s a guide to help you, not a guaranteed commitment.

Funding your goal

Quick-add buttons let you increase your goal in seconds, for example when you decide to contribute a monthly surplus. The more regularly you fund it, the clearer and more motivating the progress becomes.

  1. Create the goal

Give it a name, a target amount and a starting amount.

  2. Choose a pace

Use the simulator to find a sustainable pace.

  3. Top it up regularly

Use quick add to move forward month after month.

How many goals?

The number of goals you can track depends on your plan: one in Free, several in Premium, and unlimited in Ultra. See the details on the Subscription screen in the app. Focusing on a few goals is often more effective than spreading yourself too thin.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to set a deadline?

No. The deadline is optional. Without a cut-off date, you save at your own pace and the simulator estimates when you will reach the target.

What happens when I reach my goal?

You see your goal completed. You can then close it, raise the target or create a new one.

Can I change the target amount along the way?

Yes, a goal stays adjustable. The simulator recalculates the target date based on the new target.
