Quick troubleshooting
A clear overview to identify the source of an issue and resolve it yourself in just a few minutes.
Most issues encountered in Noryo can be resolved in a few minutes, provided you identify their origin. This page covers the most common situations (connection, synchronization, amounts and balances, unreceived emails, iPhone notifications), each with a decision tree leading you straight to the right solution. Browse the section that matches your case.
Three simple steps resolve most blockages: check your internet connection, close and reopen the app, and ensure it’s up to date. Keep these in mind as you go through this page.
Understanding service status
The same symptom can have very different causes. Here’s the useful terminology to locate a problem and determine whether it’s on your end, the bank’s side, or due to an ongoing process.
The status of services explained
- Bank connection active
- The secure link with your bank works and allows your accounts to be read.
- Synchronisation in progress
- Noryo is retrieving your latest transactions. On iPhone, a live activity may show during this time.
- Consent expired
- The authorisation given to your bank has a limited duration for security reasons. Once expired, just reconnect the bank to renew it.
- Pending transactions
- Payments not yet final on the bank side. They explain a temporary difference between the displayed balance and your bank's.
- Categorisation
- The automatic sorting of your transactions. You can correct it and create rules for next time.
I can’t log in
A Noryo account uses a single login method, the one chosen during sign-up: Apple, Google, or email and password. If login fails, it’s most often due to using a different method than the original one or needing to reset your password.
Which method do you use to sign in?
Synchronization seems stuck
Noryo updates your accounts automatically several times a day, and you can manually trigger synchronization at any time. The very first sync after logging in takes a little longer, this is normal. If nothing has changed for a while, the bank authorization has often expired.
How long has your data stopped updating?
Your bank connection is read-only: Noryo cannot make any payments or transfers. Your banking credentials are never entered in the app.
An amount or balance appears incorrect
A discrepancy between the displayed balance and your bank’s balance almost always comes from pending transactions on the bank’s side, which resolve themselves. If it’s the categorization of an expense that seems wrong, you can correct it in one step.
What seems incorrect to you?
I’m not receiving emails or notifications
Emails (reset, security alerts, summaries) may end up in spam. Push notifications, however, only arrive if you’ve allowed them at the system level on your iPhone and then enabled them by type in Noryo.
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No email received | Message filed as spam | Check the spam folder and add the sender to your contacts |
| No notification on iPhone | System permission refused | Turn on Noryo notifications in the iPhone settings |
| Only some alerts | Alert type turned off | Set each type and each channel in the notification preferences |
Each type of alert (price increase, deadline, monthly summary, account activity) is managed independently by channel. Account security alerts are always sent via email.
If the problem persists
If none of the solutions worked for your situation, Nory’s assistant answers common questions in seconds, and the contact form takes over for account-related requests. Providing your support ID significantly speeds up the process.
